Don't Believe Everything you read!!

Thanks to technology in the 21st century students no longer need to rely on teachers as their main source of knowledge. This gives teachers more time in the classroom to focus on other things which they find important. Such as working together in groups, and helping students build relationships. Students not have a much greater advantage than we did growing up. They have much more access to the world. As one of the other students in the course wrote, she read about students pen palling across the world which can be done in a matter of seconds when we used to have to wait a few weeks in order to receive a letter.

However, not everything is so simple. We must be aware of what now people are referring to as Digital Literacy. You can simply believe everything you read on the internet. Lucky for us there are sites used to be able to validate what people find online. Check it

  1. there is another thing to worry about. My concern is about tech at the expence of humanity. On one hand, technology contributes a lot to our life in many fields, on the other hand, we should keep maintaining human relationships and not to sink into the small or big screens.

  2. I totally agree with you. There is so much potential, and yet a lot of filtering to do. Keep writing. I would like to hear examples that you find for practical lesson plans using technology in class. If you find interesting debates about the role of the teacher in the digitalized class, it'll be interesting for me to read.

  3. I remember a quote by my old arts teacher: "The internet lies". Of course as a general statement it is complete ignorance. I mean, the internet, as you said, has to be checked and sorted out. For sure you are going to find sources that don't fit into the subject but all in all, the internet nowadays is just the easiest resource we have. And it's for free and accessible for everyone.

  4. This is a beautiful and painful truth. On one hand it makes being a teacher a lot harder, and on the other hand it pushes them to be better and more professional teachers.
